Mjolnir Amulet
I started digitally sculpting my new Mjolnir (Hammer of Thor) amulet. I'm using ZBrush 4 to do the digital 3D sculpture and Shapeways to cast the 3D model in sterling silver.
The first alpha mask was used in ZBrush's Shadowbox tool to make the initial shape of the digital sculpture, then the other 3 alpha masks were used for some of the details.
This shows the process from the beginning stages with the simple shape of the amulet, to adding each of the details, then on to adding small textural details:
I have added all the major features of the amulet at the point and now its time to finish all the fine details like texture and such. Notice how the amulet it way too thick at this piont and doesn't have the nice details along the side in the later revisions.
